CHRONICLES OF MEETING MOMMY KAT

When was the last time I had a blind date? I can’t remember anymore, but that excitement was relive yesterday when I’m, for the first time, meeting the author of Mom’s Wish Lists, Lifestyle and Homemaking, Mom’s Place and iTravel no other than, I actually envy her body and hair, drum rolls please…. Pretty Kat.

She actually made me wait, nyahahaha! I was one hour early at our ‘eyeball’ place since you know I did some book scavenging first at the BookSale here at NCCC Mall.

After minutes of waiting she finally came in her purple tube top, O diba… sexy! We didn’t actually made a lot of salutations, you know the feeling that you know a little of her already… the air was comfortable.

So headed down to eat lunch, Alas! We did some waiting moments again since all tables at Mandarin were all taken, but that did not stop us talking, geez, I was so loud.. nyahahaha.. I just realized now, lol.

Anyway, we started eating around 12:30 PM we ended up 3:30 PM, just in case you want some trivia about her, take her to lunch at least one hour early…. Yah! Don’t poke me Kat, lol.

So, realizing that we had overstayed… we went up to the department to buy some stuff and went down again… I wonder why talks were just pouring like the rain outside, just here and there, when, how, why, where about life and all.

While just talking, walking aimlessly we spotted bugs bunny and you know this thing bloggers do, ..picture..picture…. we were actually looking for a roving guard to took us one, since Mommy Kat was scared to had her camera handled by anybody around, they might ran away with it… hehehe! Unfortunately, we didn’t see one, so we’re strained to poke this spiked hair guy to take us a photo.

Even Adam Sandler wasn’t spared, Mommy Kat caught him cheating! So this is how a woman’s gonna do, once she caught her man cheating … Strangle you! Lol.

We got tired standing so we look around for some benches, after several minutes this ‘massage guy’ came convincing us to try, I haven’t tried it, and Mommy Kat said, let’s go, as she tried it once … so while setting up this foot massager thing, ‘massage guy’ kept babbling sorts of thing about health and all, whatever, but the vibrating infrared, whatever you call it, really was a great feel. Unfortunately, you know people wanted to get a sale, keep talking, nudging you to sign, hell! Thank You very much.

Then, ‘massage guy’ told us to take in some warm something to drain those, whatever toxins the body has that was pulverized by the vibration. So, we headed to Mr. Donut to have our coffee… before I know it, the shade outside turned dark already… OMG, Mommy Kat ‘ngit-ngit na’ (dark already)… that was when we decided to move up and she bought ‘pasalubong’ for Janjan.

We parted at around 6PM. It was a day indeed. I never had that girl talk for quiet a long time, thanks to her. We agreed to see each other more before she’ll fly to some place far and awesome.

Thanks Mommy Kat for that time, I made memories with you. Yeheyy! You’re one awesome, sexy lady, I wonder why you’re slim too… nyahaha!

So that’s what has been on this side of town on weekend.

RELIABLE WEB HOSTING

Finding the most reliable and dependable web host is the very basic foundation of blogging, but at some point this stage can also be the most difficult and confusing especially that you don’t see who you’re dealing with and transaction is based soley on trustworthiness of that site via reviews and evaluation of those who had previously used their service. But this is not supposed to be a worry since there are web hosting sites that demonstrate utmost reliability.

If you’re a blogger or someone who owns a site that handles delicate and bulk database who wants a server/hardware of your own but has no capability to reliably host your own site, there are actually infrastructure available today called colocation , where your host provider will house on their available spaces your hardware/server on a rental basis.

With standard hosting packages – bloggers/site owners are the ones responsible for the administration and maintenance of their sites, but with this system or this managed hosting system, technical support, administration, maintenance and web hosting are all rolled into one.

So overall, you’re blog or site will be technically running with less imaginable problem compared to the ones normally encountered with shared servers.

In today’s fast paced internet life, this schema can be the best option.

YEAR OF THE RABBIT

errr... I'm born on the year of the rat ...
Wow, after 100 years of purposely denying that this blog exist … nah, just me and my busy self - checking love notes of my studes, finally I got back to my senses, hoy! Mag-update ka na..lol!

I’m real excited I’m seeing someone tomorrow … I’m saving my 12:00 o’clock for Mommy Kat… more on that later.

Since I’m meeting her tom, I did my grocery this evening, I was rushing to have my loyalty card updated when I spotted this lucky bracelet at the Chinese bazaar at the mall atrium here, it sells for P150, you know the ‘kuripot’ me I haggled it for P95.

I thought after giving her the money without receipt in return that ends the transaction, but the sales lady called me back, maam, ‘please put your bracelet here’

She turned it around and around, this is the best I can get.
‘What for?’
‘So that the ‘malas’ will go away (is this some kind of rain, lol)

After the ritual the sales lady put the bracelet on my right wrist.
‘Why right?’
‘Because it symbolizes both literally and symbolically, you will do right in everyway this year’
‘Ok, fine thank you, (bantay kalang kong di matuman, lol)

When I got home and read the paper label that comes along with the bracelet ….

Naniwala na sana ako …. But last line here broke it all… I can't believe I like what? lovish money? …lol…

LOOK MA! IT’S A MAIL …

I was surprised when I came home tonight, my son handed me a white envelope, ‘look ma, it’s a mail’. When I read it I was real surprised … it came from this beautiful blogger who lived in a Lone Star State –Texas, who lived with a man named Greg, who lived a life caring for a girl named Akesha (4) and who lived with this adorable brown haired fella – Buddy (10), without further much a do, Thank You Demcy for the thought.

Thank Heavens to blogging I’ve met beautiful people around here.

Dhemz is the proud owner of these blogs, OH, by the way; you aren’t a blogger if you hadn’t met her. But just in case, see her blogs to make friends with her too.. She’s one great, best blogger that I have ever met here.

Thank You Dhemz!

HAMSTER RUN IN THIS BLOGGING WORLD

I was chatting with this friend of mine at FB last night; she too is a blogger trying to make it here. She has been blogging long before I knew how to change templates and all that. Call it blogging burn-out, in the end she slowed down after some years of running and running, meeting deadlines, burning her butt out, cracking her head off concocting 15 stories, articles in a day in exchange of dollars in her paypal.

Her story actually made me realized, life in the internet is most demanding than the physical one, I swear, try leaving your blog unattended for two days and it will be forgotten in no time. I would say money is quick in this sphere, there’s plenty of opportunity for everyone, you can rake aplenty from Online Casinos, you can click ads ‘till you drop, you can write endlessly, your choice of site and currency all you need is time and a courage to run, and run and run, just like a hamster not knowing when to stop.

AWARD FOR ME!

The last time I received an award like this was, I can’t remember anymore. Thanks to Mommy Carinamodella of MJM: The Ilumin Siblings for the thought, so sweet of you.

So 7 things about me?
  1. I can spend hours squatting cross legged at the literary winner section of any bookstore, as I cannot do that on the children’s lane…
  2. I can only dye my hair with henna – I’m born poor you know, lol
  3. I have two dead toe nails I disguise it often with red or black polish … you know the bitchy type…
  4. I romanticize Christian Bautista… ewwww!
  5. I dream of appearing in ‘The Amazing Race’ I don’t care if I’m the first one to be eliminated.
  6. I dream of posting a wish note at Prague’s Wishing Wall – Lord of Heavens take into your arms your good and obedient servant (M…..L’s name) and bestow blessings to those who wished to live a life back here on Earth. Amen.
  7. Lastly, I was my hair every other day; I love to scratch my head while thinking of something to write …. Such a gross habit … just say ewwww…. But loving the feeling.

This is a violation to the rule I think, but I’m still scratching my head to whom will I pass this… tata, thanks everyone for dropping by on this side of town.

NOT GETTING ENOUGH SLEEP

I don’t know what happened but I had insomnia attacks these past few days, well, blame it to Japanese movies-my latest craze, it’s just that their pieces will keep you thinking why it happened after seeing and not a typical humdrum John Lloyd lovey-dovey kind. I’ll share some thoughts of those when I’ll come to organize my mind.

Meanwhile, as plot thickens in the movies, pimples are slowly showing like mushroom buds right under my chin, gosh they’re plenty of them. Swollen like volcanoes ready to erupt. I’m really tempted to squeeze them, but thanks to this boxed article I stumbled.

OK, then I’ll take that. But more than pinching, some say gulping some hot milk before going to bed will at least reduce anxiety and will give one a good night sleep. I’ve been trying, but geez, my eye bags are like inflated balloons, I think I needed some Natural Skin Care Products here they’re the best for the skin.

I know to have radiant skin I need to reprogram my body’s bad habits. I’m working hard on it. But just in case you’re looking for skin care that contains no harmful ingredients, I recommend you opt for Natural Skin Care Products it can nourish your skin with same function as chemically-based skin care products, but only on a gentler and pure way.

Friday

STRESSED!

Thank God final exams for the first term is finally over. I might have escaped the everyday talk, which I swear, loving it. But I still have mound of papers to check. Honest, some pimples are poppin’ outta my watertight skin, lol,  and I don’t like the looks of it.

Well, seems like this blogger needs some kinda royal treatment, unwind maybe with some cool relaxin’ music, but what I have in mind is to be on Casinos online, play some Baccarat and drop dead with tonssa money. What do you think?

I think I need to hit the hay now, thanks everyone for dropping by on this side of town.

DAVAO CITY TODAY

Today’s Personal Forecast:

For those who are planning to go out and do some outdoor activities, expect fair skies for the rest of the day with temperatures in the high 90's. However, things might change by Friday evening so always be ready with your rubber boats as flashfloods come like a thief in the night.

Expect light to heavy scattered rains over the northern part, my husband might have known this earlier as he refused to drive for me er allowed me to drive the car alone, temperatures in the eighties, but this rain will taper off by early Saturday morning. It will be partly cloudy for most of the morning, but these clouds are expected to move out by mid-afternoon. That if my husband would bribe me with some pizza at Yellow Cab
.
Skies should be clear by Sunday. I would hope so. And that's all for today's weather.

Tata, thanks for dropping by on this side of town.

TRY GOLDWELL

Geez, I’m really having a bad hair day as in falling hair days these past few days, it really upsets me seeing the floor with lots of loose hairs scattered all over.

Been trying lots of haircare products already, this time, I’m thinking of using Goldwell products, some reviews around suggest that their shampoo and conditioner is a good remedy for falling hair. Well, it should try to find out.

Meantime, I need to use my traditional coco treatment while waiting for my order to come.

Tata, thanks everyone for dropping by on this side of town.

REMEMBERING SINULOG OF 1998

Viva! Pit Senyor! I remember shouting these on the streets of Cebu too back in 1998.

There were many times have that I had gone back to Cebu after that year though, but that was the last time that me and my husband has joined the sea of humanity celebrating Sinulog of Cebu.
Just how tourists take a shot of the famed Cebu Basilica
I was reading yesterday’s paper featuring some events on a rainy Sinulog celebration, but that did not deter the faithfuls of Sto. Nino to go out and stride the streets of Cebu amid downpour. Indeed, if you are looking for some fun pilgrimage, then Sinulog is the event to be. Save every second week of January to go to Cebu.
Just one of the hyper moments seeing the Sto. Nino. Viva! Pit Senyor!
It was tiring though as there were no transports on the major streets as you have to walk all the way around town, but that is how Sinulog is; prepare to hike around town in your water jug and backpacks.

It was real, clean fun.

So there, join us again next week for another round of nostalgic marveling at Rose's Blog. Click on the Nostalgia badge to join.

BORROW BOOKS ONLINE

Spewing has died down, some momma rants on this side of town.

One calm evening, the eldest among the brood brought home a notice from the school library stating this eye popping figures of overdue/unreturned books.

I understand the thrill of reading and I’m so glad my kids had this kind of interest in books. However, I guess every moms first reaction seeing a P300.00 statement for overdue books, that’s too much, at least to me.

‘Ok, fine, I’ll take that, but you’ll go penniless for three school days’…
‘Mom, you’re starvin’ a bookworm’,

‘Whatever, go find some leaves’

Actually, this scenario is not new to me, I can see myself in him, where I also have to go through penniless days during my college days as I have to pay my overdue books at the library, now I understand why my mom then nagged on me too.

But did you know that there are services online that enables you to borrow books without the hassle of going to the library? In fact, not only paperbacks, children’s books but audio books as well. All you have to do is sign up and browse on their thousands of selections, select your plan, pay and wait for your books as it will be delivered right at your doorstep.

If you choose Netflix for Books they guarantee no due dates and late fees. And if you become a member, you can receive notices of your favorite author’s new releases, all complete with books reviews and ratings. So why waste some of your precious time taking a trip to the library when you can borrow books at the convenience of your home.

How I wish my son’s library offer such service too. It sure would save me much energy.

WHY ARE HOUSE PLANS IMPORTANT?

One of the most crucial parts in building a house of your dreams is to put intensive effort in the planning phase of it. Aside from seeing your house in perspective, House Plans are very important in terms of saving resources. Whether it’s customized or pre-made, these plans serve as a guide for those who will be constructing the house.

But sometimes getting started is not as easy as we thought it should be, finding architects who will render your design in mind can occasionally be stressing. At some point you are not satisfied with the design so you have to have it redone, and this part makes designers uncomfortable. I’m speaking through experience, there are architects especially those who are seasoned ones that do not listen to what your desires are, they simply go on with what they have in mind. That is why finding the right designers is the key to success when it comes to this matter, Well, if you are on the run right now and looking for one, then you have come to the right blog.

Photo courtesy of Ahmann Design Inc.

Ahmann Design Inc., a leading Luxury House Plans designer offer the best service in the industry today, they specialized in custom house plans and sells pre-designed ones. They have quiet a variety of designs to choose from which surely would fit your personality, your resources and your needs in general sense.

So why roam around and end up giddy, have those House Floor Plans of yours made by the experts so they’re wouldn’t be an inch of regrets in the future.

Although, I’m still way too far in building my dream house though, but having to know that there are sites like this which are just a click away, that can help me with this issue, I'm  rather comfortable thinking.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

The youngest monkey in our household celebrated his 3rd birthday yesterday, nothing fancy as it falls on a weekday and everybody had their share of a busy day. Shakey’s to the rescue- the eternally favored fried chicken, some pizzas, sodas and cakes, which Angelo’s Aunt/Godmother rolled into one had gifted him were at hand.

Thomas and Friends were there too, Oh, the cake I mean, and the tarpaulin which actually I was surprised when I saw it. Is this some sort of a  political campaign? It wasn’t from Jessops though, Oh, by the way if you wish to have your pictures made into posters, cards or anything of that sort you can always contract their service, but the poster was something that made Angelo’s day. Thanks Ninang Ayen!

So, that’s what has been on this side of town, thanks for dropping by.

I told you Thomas and Friends were there only they were devoured by humans before the night ended.

ABANDON CHILD, ABANDON CHILD!

Omo! Looks like this man is escaping responsibility …

Nah, just me and my rumbling tummy, you know starvation begets hallucination, lol.
Yesterday I went as usual to spend my self-declared day off alone. Thing with time it passes like  wind, I barely noticed I used up an hour and half reading backcovers at the National Bookstore. I was craving for some transfat and triglycerides, I maybe was too early there weren’t fries patrons here yet, the crew ordered me to wait for 5 minutes to have my fries done, so I went to sit and flip some pages of my ‘The Sushi Economy’. I had not finished a line yet when a girl few tables across me, as you can see, cried as if she was beaten to death, apparently the father got up to take an order and left the child with the older brother.

Sorry about this, but my wild imagination just flew here and there, omo! What if the fathers not coming back, just like the dramas and books that passed my mind, gosh! I maybe had too much, minutes later the father came back… Thank God, I’m settled. Just me and my paranoia of abandonment.

NALIBAT NA KO!

Someone said: “Many of the great achievements of the world were accomplished by tired and discouraged men and women who kept on working.”

So do I, nothing much happening on this side of town except that I’m drowned with papers to check, nalibat nako sa kadaghan! And once in a while rest to gaze at this scene with hope and optimism for greater achievements in life.

Anyway, thanks for dropping by I sure will return the favor. Just let me know.

KEEP A BUTT PASTE, IT WORKS!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Boudreaux's Butt Paste. All opinions are 100% mine.

I really have no idea what this Boudreaux's Butt Paste was all about not until a cousin of mine from Ohio who had a baby as old as my youngest boy then, brought home a tube of this butt paste and shared it to me.
At first the thought of, ‘never mind I‘m using a local brand which work well for me, so why bother trying another, besides I’m doubly cautious not to set off any skin irritations or diaper rash since it would really make a baby cranky which in effect disrupt my work.’

But sometimes your means are tested. Angelo, my son of 6 months then was left in the  care of a nanny for 2 weeks, I need to rush my academic papers to meet my deadline. Towards the end of the first week, Angelo’s butt begun showing signs of irritation and started to become uneasy, so my cousin went to the rescue, she washed the baby’s butt clean and squeezed a generous amount and put it on the irritated part, it has pleasant, gentle smell, the rash did not disappear immediately though, but it sure has calmed the baby and eventually went dry and vanished.

There weren’t diaper rash incidence that occurred after that then. The tube was still almost untouched, but my husband experimented it since it worked well in a baby’s sensitive skin it might as well work for his razor burn, he sure was right, he used it all up instead and been asking my cousin in Ohio to insert some butt paste tube every time they sent a package home.

How can it not be effective when it was formulated especially for baby’s sensitive skin, with 16% Zinc Oxide and Peruvian Balsam that is responsible for speedy healing. It comes in convenient sizes of 1oz, 2oz, 3oz and 4oz tubes, 16oz jar.

Reliability of this product really showed as it was even featured in Peoples’ Magazine and has gotten time with Oprah’s Show and etc. And, if you want to try out the effectiveness of this product you can log on to their official website at www.buttpaste.com to learn more about how to get a free sample.

It’s a bit pricey though, but I highly recommend this not only for mommies who have babies but just keep a tube in your medicine kit for skin inflammation emergency.

LONDON TOUR WITH DREW

I was watching this TV show called ‘Balikbayan’ hosted by Drew Arellano aired at QTV here, the place they explored was London. Well I have been seeing lots of movies, documentaries with London as setting, but nothing beats a Filipino hosting it and seeing things around London from a Filipino tourist perspective.
photo not mine
I love it especially when he highlighted the idea of touring around London on a budget, squeezing himself in a small london apartments, well there can be great places to stay in London, but for a tourist on a budget it was a wise choice he made giving his viewers clear idea on where and how to book a good place, eat good food, see great places on a budget. It made me wished more to see Europe. Good job ‘Balikbayan’.

NOSTALGIA- STUCK ON YOU

Photobucket
Xa, baduy na kung baduy… whatever!

But there’s something about this song that spark some nerves in me that brings about a gentle melancholy, I would like to think you live in the same planet, space and time as me and there’s not much ceremonies to introduce who Lionel Richie is, unless you’ve been blasted from the past and struggling to cope up.

I should be honest with myself, I was not gifted with a singing voice, it made me wonder why there are people who are tone deaf, and that would be me, well, I can recite songs with my mouth and I can sing it in the bathroom, I think Christian Bautista would understand why I can only sing his songs and do my concert in that four small corners …. In which by the way, my most desired man in this country, hahahah… he’s so sexy when he sings, he’s like a fallen Lucifer-angelic yet so devilish.

Anyway, back to the song, I’m ain’t that woman who waited for some foolish guys who had been packing his troubles and come home, thing is it’s the other way around. Lol.

The story really was that back in college I had this boy classmate that really annoyed me so much, I had no romantic interest with that guy or whatsoever of that sort, but every time he sung this song, he would shout that ……..’oooooooh… stuck on you’…. That often I would wish, if I will be reincarnated and choose what life to live I would choose to be a Tyrex and swallow you devoid of mastication …. Later I learned he was having some troubles with life too, and it’s his way of venting his bad air, well, I wasn’t that mature then to understand, whatever it is, I made memory with that man.

Huh! My cerebrum is serving me right, so glad I remembered this packet of my life back then, thanks to Rose for this meme, click on the badge above to join. Tata, thanks everyone for dropping by on this side of town.

SOME BLOGGING NOTES TO REMEMBER

When I started blogging a year ago, not even in my wildest dream that this phenomenon will be so much part of my life’s everydayness. I started with one blog, and then eventually add another and another and if not because of my offline schedules I could have made more. True, it’s so addicting.

And for those who wish to get hitched with blogging, I suggest you get your own domain before anything else, as the feeling is like getting a house before raising a family, and if you are confused on which web hosting service to contract, there are quite a number of  web hosting hub that present various reviews on major and reliable web hosting providers the internet have today, here you can see the technical specifications and services each host offer which will reduce your anxiety over this choosing matter.

And once you have you blog flown, stuff it up with thoughts and pictures that encourage others to come back again. Make friends and be passionate about it.

Who knows you can reap award for your writing efforts, in fact, this blog has made it to PEBA awards in 2010 (with the help of my blogging friends around of course!) which came a surprise to me for I never really expected it. It’s a rewarding feeling. So get unto the blogging bandwagon now, tag me for links OK?

SOME SOCIAL REALIZATIONS

Went out for a short trip to a drug store yesterday, proudly Davao has the most efficient traffic system in the country, no wonder why every major intersections here you have to pull-up and be an obedient citizen or you’ll end up queuing at LTO, which is my most hated part of this traffic system.

Right in front me as you can see is this woman bringing along her child peeping for some alms, call it making a living by soliciting (I think this word is not as painful and so politically laden than begging), after being ignored at the first car, she went next to my window, O glad my window is tinted or else she would see me eating burger which I had snatched from my son before I drove away. The girl was crying, the mom in me was struck by my conscience so I lowered my window and hand in to her my burger, she immediately left and move to the next car while it has not turned green yet.

Authorities would often tell us not to give money/alms to these street beggars so in effect they won’t flocked the streets, but I wonder why they are still on the streets. Your answer is as good as mine,  or maybe because I'm a disobedient citizen that keeps using my bleeding heart handing them my bitten burger. If I were this mom seeing my child crying because of hunger, I wouldn’t hesitate to risk my life knocking on these snobbish car windows till it break to ask something to feed my child.

There can be so much concerns to be talked about regarding this situation, this sick situation in practically all cities in our country, but sometimes it just pains you more, a discourse in our society where you don’t know who to blame anymore.

I wonder how long that burger will last to give them strength to beg again. Sigh!

BE FINANCIALLY LIQUID

To be financially secure is what everyone longs for in this materially emblazoned world. A Biblical passage suggest that you ‘cannot live by bread alone’ but definitely you have to have bread to survive. Whether we deny it or not, we are prone to believe that a financially stable individual will be much happier or at an advantage to others who aren’t. Well, to some this formula does not always follow. But to some, a reason why we enslave ourselves from 8-5 work every single day.

But this story does always have a happy ending, sometimes life is just hard and it sucks to death, sometimes you question why you had been working all your life yet financial freedom is still an elusive thing. SHORT OF CASH?

By now I think the Christmas adrenalin has subsided, I can tell for sure because we have a quiet neighborhood already, no more loud karaokes, no more drums caroling, no more lights blinking, no more ripped gift wrappers scattered around the house. In fact, I have washed our plastic tree and returned it to its resting place to be resurrected by December of this year again.

By now too, I would suppose many are expecting to raise eyebrows seeing their bills of all sort, especially the credit card bills which I just overheard from my neighbor where she’s going to eat porridge for the next three months just to pay her bills. Well, that is what we call pay and enjoy now, suffer later.

But worry no more, this is the perks of living in the modern world, Quick Cash can easily be accessed, you don’t have to wait for the next payday to get liquid. Payday Loans can be processed in a very short period of time; in fact pay-outs are on the same day you applied for Cash loans.

This can be done online at your most convenient time no hassle, and fast approval. This is fraud-free and 100% safe, in fact hourpaydayloans.co.uk is recognized as one of UK’s leading Payday Loan providers with utmost approval rates.

Don’t be sad, if you fall short of cash; get your Cash Loans now.

FINDING SOME LUCK ONLINE

I’m not in luck today, I just garbaged my blogging hard earned P20, lol, as they say better luck next time. Megalotto winning numbers for Jan 10, 2011 were 43-29-20-19-35-45 with supposedly just 4.5M as jackpot prize, as you can see it did not match my numbers, that’s sad.

Anyway, if you’re a bit like me peeping some out of the blue chances to pocket sizable amount of money without spending even just a little capital, then you can opt for doing it online, it is more fun and thrilling than waiting for those numbered balls thrown up in the air. There are Online casinos with big bonuses and you can play even without deposit.

So bet on your luck, who knows it’s your day.

INDEPENDENCE IS SOMETIMES SCARY

Teaching children to be independent can sometimes be scary.

I did some self-inventory sometime ago, I realized my mothering strategies were just too-guarded so I had shifted to a more care-free type, giving kids their freedom (if there such a word if you’re still a child), but sometimes it’s so scary.

Well, other than letting them memorize our home’s phone number, their names and other household names, I coached them to approach circumstance with confidence, knowing what to do, how to do, where to go….

And this little guy did a parallel run of this social technology I was talking about, it scared me to death …. Waaaaahhhh, he went all by himself to buy chips… note: without money but he managed to get one.

The next thing I know the lady at the store was already following him to collect the pay for his chips… ‘Kaloka!”

I had my errands done earlier than scheduled today so I paid a visit a gay friend whom I hadn’t seen for quiet a while, but to be honest I had been avoiding him since I owe him a lot and had no time to pay him back, anyway after some gay salutations I find myself a seat near the TV, talking here and there I kept changing the channel, I landed on Nat Geo channel, I was stuck at seeing the making of the largest Casino in the world-Venetian, a 3,000-suite casino & hotel resort in Macao.

The figures the announcer has been talking simply awed me, so much of the world’s resources was spent to make such a magnificent structure, and how much of the world’s money go by the poker tables each night.

People who built this claimed that Venetian is the largest Casino destination in the world. But I understand there are those who choose not to be on the physical setting while gaming, there are those who choose sitting at the comforts of their couches at home playing live roulette, in fact it is more liberating than guarded gaming.

Well, if you’re this type then I suggest you visit live roulette online, it offers same thrill as playing it on physical casinos, and the best part is that it is free. You don’t need to go to Macao just to feel the excitement, there is also supercasino online, so why not try one today.

ARE YOU TALKIN’ TO ME?

The eagle said proudly …

“Yes! And I demand you pay attention or you’ll be plucked for dinner in no time!”

“I’m cerebrally challenged right now, I’m damn stuck with my pc typing these assessment questions and had no time pumping up my rank in the adgitize leaderboard, and here still struggling for domestic emancipation and you’re just there staring at me, as if you know what I’m thinking about”

(silence … eagle looking intently, coldly)

“Woah … you’re so fast, you guessed it right” … said the eagle.

“Aren’t you gonna fly?” “Aren’t you afraid human’s gonna stew you?”

“Hoy! Baklang agila… wag mu akong pinag-loloko ng kaaga-aga dahil tatalupan talaga kita!”

“What’s the buzz so early in the morning, you’re venting your bad air to some pretty bird right here, I’m also fighting for my freedom you know” “I’ve been stuck here for years, forlorned, cuffed, suffered, endured, dressed up to look good for someone else’s sake. Aren’t we in the same boat?”

“Sorry about that, shouldn’t we drown ourselves together?”

“Hoy! Babae kung gusto mung mamatay ng walang ka-poise, poise, wag mu akong idamay, gusto ko pang kumawala sa pusas na to.”

“How are we going to do that?”

WATERY MORNING ON THIS SIDE OF TOWN

Still a gloomy morning on this side of town, it has been raining since last night, it’s just a relief we weren’t floating.

PAG-ASA SAYS …

Tail-end of a cold front affecting Visayas and Mindanao.

Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms becoming widespread rains over Eastern Visayas and Mindanao which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. (O great, we’re spared)

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Northeast will affect Eastern Mindanao and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the Northeast with slight to moderate seas. (It is advised to just snuggle, boil ‘saba’ banana, and blow it on fork and get back to bed)

Anyway, sharing some snapshots for Watery Wednesday of our sea adventure just before new year. Just mouse on the badge below to see more entries.
Afternoon walk at Pearl Farm Jetty

NEW YEAR AT Chateau del Mar

For so many years now, Davao has been noted for zero casualty every Christmas and New Year from firecrackers accidents it’s because we have a city ordinance that bans firecrackers during these celebrations, in short if you want to make noise to drive those whatever spirits they’re talking about, there are always democratic arrangements to carry out this tradition … number 1, you can shout your lungs out in the middle of the night. Number 2, grab your ‘palanggana’ and ‘kaldero’ and gong it ‘till it breaks your arm Number 3, the infamous ‘torotot’ is always the preferred choice… just remember to breath in between and for Number 4, sneak out of the city and torch as many firecrackers as you can.

Unfortunately, we did none of the above; we celebrated it quietly by the sea, watching fireworks from the closest island. Actually, we did it on purpose so the kids can see actual fireworks because from the time they were born firecrackers/works had already been banned and they had no idea what these things are all about.

So we trooped to Chateau del Mar, it’s a small charming hotel fronting Samal Island, we have quiet a good view of where fireworks gonna happen by midnight of the 31st, thanks to the generous resort owners at the island my kids enjoyed it a lot, including the mom of course, it's no compare to the ones at Times Square though, but to people where these things are forbidden, it's quiet a view!

But just in case you may want to visit Davao, Chateau del Mar is a nice place to stay. They are located in between Pearl Farm Jetty and Insular Hotel at Lanang of this City. Here, sharing some snapshots of the place... we crossed-over to Insular Hotel to have our New Year's 'media noche' and returned after... it's way to expensive to spend the night there... lol....
Chateau del Mar's Lobby
the ocean front of the hotel
ocean view from our room's balcony, the breakwater there is actually the jetty to Pearl Farm
Afternoon at the pool, It's kinda cold, me in my robes from the balcony, lol
