RIZAL DAY IN DAVAO CITY

It’s holiday in the Philippines. Today, December 30 marks the 113th death anniversary of Philippine National Hero Dr. Jose P. Rizal and Davao City also commemorated the event. We brought the children to Rizal Park this morning to at least inculcate in them some sense of nationalism. We were again late, the wreath laying was at 7:00 AM and we arrive an hour after. This is the statue of Jose P. Rizal here in Rizal Park in Davao City.

  1. Hi Vernz, yes, even as an American I know what a great man Dr. Rizal was and what he means to the Philippines. Good of you to honor him on this day.

  2. Valencia City is about 2.5 hours drive from Cagayan de Oro. Expect to take another 30 minutes more as the Sayre Highway is now under repair. You may wish to visit the Del Monte Country Club at the Del Monte Golf Course in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon just along the way. This is about 30 minutes east of Cagayan de Oro. If you like a good steak, don’t miss this place! In my opinion, they have the best steak in the Philippines! On your way you will find endless strip of pineapple plantations.
