FAUX SNOW

For people living in places with true seasons, seeing this stuff might not be a wonder to you, but for children who have just heard and read about this cold white stuff, seeing it was like a mystery that left one wondering how this thing works?
When I saw this on weekend, at a display window of a hardware store here in Davao, it awed me how humans have developed such a technology that truly resembles a true falling snow from the sky using small styro balls. But what awed me the most was seeing the eyes of these children rolled into wonder, shouting.. yeheey! Snow!

It left me thinking, what if snow would really fall along here? What will happen to those people living in the slum? They would sure be frozen to death. Maybe that’s why, geographically, Philippines was coincidentally located along the tropics to spare these deprived ones of decent homes from getting hard on seasons like this. ….. Do you think so?

  4. Oh I agree Vernz;) life would be so much harder in freezing weather. Here in the Sudan it would never snow, of course and life for some is very hard, but better because of heat instead of cold. This is my last visit from North Africa, (Sadly!) I will be online in South Africa in about two days' time and hopefully blogging again. Until then, blessings and hugs, Jo

  7. Hi Vernz, it came to my mind too specially if we have snow blizzard or snow storm and it leaves the whole place ice. And you heard the trees cracking and falling down because the ice is heavy. One time I told my husband good thing we don't have like this weather in the Philippines, our houses doesn't fit with the weather. Great shot Vernz and thanks for sharing!

  10. When I was a child in Indonesia I saw a picture of children playing in the snow, making a snowman and sleighing downhill. I asked my mum if they were playing in the clouds, but my mum told me that it was snow which was very cold.
Talking about poor people: there are also poor people overhere. Some of them are homeless and get food from the Salvation Army and sometimes a bed.

  15. Maybe Verns, it is God's way of showing providence. He did not let it snow here to spare our fellow Filipinos from death :) God is good.
